Tesco shopper 'clears shelf' for 6p as others urged to check their receipts – Manchester Evening News

‘I get a few bargains over my time but I think today’s one is the best’
Tesco shoppers have been scramling to check their receipts after one bargain hunter managed to walk away with a huge bargain for just 6p. The man took to a popular Facebook bargain group where he told of the deal, which saw him wheel out 12kg of sugar for a tiny cost.
The savvy shopper headed into his local Tesco and said he went to scan the product and was pleasantly surprised by the outcome, Birmingham Live reports.
Upon scanning the sugar, the customer was told of the 1p price and filled his trolley. Now, he won't need to buy sugar for all of 2023.

He said: "I get a few bargains over my time but I think today's one is the best. 2kg of vending sugar (bit like caster sugar) 1p a bag.
"Yep 1p. There wasn’t a price on it so I asked the lady at the till she scanned it and said “ well erm …… it’s a penny “ I said ok thanks went back and cleared the shelf only had 6 bags there but I won’t have to buy sugar for me again this year. Happy days."
He showed his receipt which did in fact show he managed to get six 2kg bags of sugar for just 6p in total. And other bargain hunters were amazed by what he managed to find.
One shopper said: "Awesome bargain, good on you for clearing the shelf, if it saves u money in the long run then why not?" and a second added: "Ooo I’m a baker and this would be amazing!! Never even seen this sugar in my Tesco so not holding out much hope that I’ll find it for 1p."
And a third shopper said: "I need something like this to happen to me. I go through so much sugar. And it’s only me that’s using it!"
Online, a case of six 2kg bags of vending sugar is priced at £19.99, so it looks like this shopper really has dropped on a mega deal. Well done!
