Vocas introduced the new Case Cart 2800, a heavy-duty hard case and a production cart in one, which can be set up in a few simple steps. We met Andre Kan at Cine Gear in Los Angeles and he showed us all the features of the Case Cart 2800. It can be ordered directly at Vocas for $2,750 (€2,395.80). Let’s have a closer look.
Carts can be extremely useful when you have to transport your gear safely to locations. Consequently, there are all sorts of production carts available in the industry, from the motorized INOVATIV Apollo 40 and Apollo 52 heavy-duty carts to lightweight portable production carts from CAME-TV, to a DIY budget studio creator cart that you can build using only IKEA components.
If you haven’t heard the name of this European manufacturer before, Vocas Products is a Dutch company founded in 1994, specializing in high-end camera accessories for cine-style cameras like ARRI, RED, Sony, and Canon.
The basic idea of the Vocas Case Cart is pretty simple. It’s a heavy-duty case that can be transformed into a production cart with a few simple steps. It consists of an HPRC2800W case with 4 large 10” wheels that can be disassembled and stored on the top shelf inside the case. Two of the wheels are 360 degrees fully rotating with brakes, and the other two are straightforward.
When the lid is opened, you can lift and lock the top layer to create a workspace at a comfortable height. Additionally, the case features two sturdy handles for easy carrying and enough storage space to store a fully rigged camera or a larger-sized drone. The payload is around 30-35kg / 70-80lb and the total weight of the empty Case Cart is 32kg / 50,5lb.
There are a few additional accessory kits available – an organizer kit that fits on the inside of the lid for storing smaller stuff, as well as a two-bag divider kit available when you don’t need to carry larger equipment. Furthermore, Vocas provides a bowl to put on your camera, adapters for 1/4” or 3/8” accessories, and hooks for organizing cables.
The Vocas Case Cart 2800 and the accessories can be ordered directly at the Vocas website here.
